The Disaster Medicine Interest track provides opportunities for a customized approach based on the level of resident interest. Participants have ranged from those with passing interest to individuals actively pursuing formal fellowship training. In addition to the standard longitudinal Disaster Medicine curriculum, those involved with the interest track have additional options including participation in our National Disaster Life Support Training Center providing Basic and Advanced Disaster Life Support classes, additional lectures and training, research and presentation opportunities, disaster response exercises, experience with our WellSpan Disaster Response Team and working with active Incident Command teams. Working closely with our Wilderness Medicine and EMS divisions, multiple graduates from YHEM have pursued fellowship in these niche fields.
